PARENTS EXPRESSED A VARIETY OF WAYS THEY WANT TO LEARN TO BE BETTER ADVOCATES FOR QUALITY.When asked about several different ways to access information and training on how to advocate for their students, parents seemed to embrace a diverse set of options. However, it is clear that engaging one-on-one with other leaders and advocates, coupled with online training would be of interest to many parents.

THE MAJORITY OF PARENTS PREFER TO ENROLL THEIR CHILDREN IN-PERSON.When it comes to actually enrolling their children in school, over half (56%) of Houston parents still prefer to do so in-person at the school. Throughout the school decision process, parents prefer to build a personal relationship with the school and interact with staff live.

THE MAJORITY OF PARENTS WOULD LOOK TO THEIR CHILD'S SCHOOL LEADERSHIP FOR HELP IN TAKING ACTION.The majority of Houston parents are very likely to take action at their child's school if they felt their child's school was not meeting expectations. In this event, most parents would reach out to either their child's teacher (56%) or the principal (54%) in order to address their concerns.
